Tibbetts Brook Park Lake Revitalization: Westchester Parks Foundation

About this Giving Opportunity

Help us reach our goal of raising $30,000!

Xylem Watermark has partnered with G.A. Fleet and H2M Architects + Engineers to conduct an invasive species removal project at Tibbetts Brook Park Lake in Yonkers, NY. (www.theWPF.org)  The Tibbetts Brook Park Lake in Yonkers has become unusable to community residents due to the intrusion of an invasive species called Water Chestnut.  The 100,000 residents who once used the lake recreationally can no longer boat, fish and swim due to the growth that has overtaken the lake, forming a dense mat on the surface. The ecosystem is suffering tremendously while the Water Chestnut competes with all other aquatic life for sunlight, oxygen and nutrients.

Xylem Watermark and our partners are raising funds to sponsor the harvesting and removal of this invasive species.  We will kick off our 2 month long fundraising campaign on March 22nd, World Water Day, and hope to reach our goal by June 1st

We hope you will take action with us in this important effort!
