The Latin Jazz Project - Virtual Education Support During COVID-19

The Latin Jazz Project is a non-profit organization that offers free music training and instruments to underprivileged youth who don't have access to music opportunities in their homes or schools. Students will learn basic Latin jazz rhythms and instruments, and will showcase their skills at a final concert on the last day of camp. Our goal is to ignite a passion for music in young kids while helping them build confidence in their abilities and teaching them the importance of community and collaboration. 

Before the emergence of COVID-19, The Latin Jazz Project held in-person classes with our community partner, KidWorks OC in Santa Ana. Instruments were also provided for the students. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Latin Jazz Project shifted to a virtual format in the summer of 2020, with music classes being held via Zoom and art and dance classes being pre-recorded for the students to learn from. The class sizes are limited to the amount of instruments available for use by students, since every student needs access to their own equipment. With your generous donation, the Latin Jazz Project can provide percussion instruments and art supplies so that our students can learn from home. Donations will be accepted until May 21, 2021.
