Donate to this clean water access initiative and receive a bag of ethically sourced Kenyan coffee

About this Giving Opportunity

Do you believe in Majik?

Majik Water, as featured in the Netflix documentary Brave Blue World, is an exciting new source for affordable, clean drinking water for water scarce communities. The company is founded by Kenyan Entrepreneur Beth Koigi with a multinational team combining water sector expertise internationally and in Kenya, and specializing in product R&D, development consulting, and water solution entrepreneurship.

Did you know there is 6x more water in the air around us than in all the rivers in the world?

Majik Waters unique system of removing the water from the air in a scalable, safe, and efficient way and storing the water in a hygienic tank makes their systems some of the most unique in the fight for water availability. These systems can be installed virtually anywhere that there is humid air and produce water efficiently with little maintenance.

Did you know that 1.8bn people will be living in water scarce regions by 2025?

Many of us do not know what it is like to face water scarcity. The residents of Kibera, Kenya - one of the continents largest slums - face the challenge of locating safe drinking water every day. But water scarcity is more than just water for drinking, it is also a key part of maintaining good health.

Recently, the Period Project of London donated around 400 menstrual cups to girls in Kibera so they could continue their studies while on their period, and receive comprehensive period education to break the social stigma of menstruation. This led to higher attendance and participation at school, and more period education for the girls. However, without access to clean sanitary water, these cups are less effective and can lead to issues with infection and discomfort.

Please join me in helping solve just one of the worlds many water problems by making a $20 contribution to a new Majik Water system in Kibera, Kenya.

Your donation will go towards installing an atmospheric water generation unit that can produce 500 liters of safe, sanitary water each day for the citizens of Kibera at the Maoni Education Centre. This water will be used to provide sanitary water for the girls to clean their menstrual cups and continue to attend lessons whilst on their period, as well as provide drinking water for 500+ members of the school and community.

As a thank you for your donation, you will receive a bag of ethically sourced Kenyan coffee, roasted by our friends at Simple Roast Coffee in Auburn, NY (while supplies last).
