Pakistan Flooding Response

About this Giving Opportunity

Over half of Pakistan has been impacted by the worst flooding in recent memory.

Pakistan’s seasonal monsoon rains typically start in July, but this year’s rains came early and are especially heavy — flooding began in June. The flash flooding is destroying homes, washing away crops and putting millions of families at risk. The shocking number of people impacted is increasing regularly, already more than 1,000 people have lost their lives while hundreds of thousands are now homeless. Pakistan's climate change minister has announced that 33 million people have been affected.

Xylem Watermark's global partner, Mercy Corps, is responding to this crisis with live saving aid.  Xylem will match your donations made to this cause.

Mercy Corps is targeting our response to the most affected areas of Balochistan province, in the Southwest of the country. Team members are delivering food, water, and other essential supplies. Our main focus is reaching Afghan refugees, households displaced because of damage to their homes, and households headed by women or with disabled family members.Mercy Corps is helping families across the globe by providing urgent relief like food, water, and sanitation, and working with communities to address the underlying causes of emergencies so they can build better futures. Please make a gift today to support Mercy Corps’ work in 40+ countries to help communities prepare for, protect against, and recover from crisis
