Myanmar Earthquake Response - Emergency Access to Safe Water
de Planet Water FoundationThe death toll continues to climb after a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook large parts of Myanmar and Thailand on Friday, March 28.
More than 2,700 people have been confirmed dead across Myanmar, with thousands more injured and many still unaccounted for. This disaster hits incredibly close to home for us. Bangkok is our regional hub in Southeast Asia where several of our team members are based, all of whom are safe.
Our thoughts are with our neighbors in Myanmar and those affected here in Bangkok.
With rescue efforts in Myanmar ongoing, Planet Water Foundation is finalizing plans to send our team into Myanmar to deploy water filtration systems which will provide emergency access to safe drinking water to survivors who have been impacted by the devastating earthquake.
Planet Water Foundation has supported responses to devastating events across the globe in recent years, including earthquakes in Turkey and Morocco, typhoons in Southeast Asia, floods in Brazil, and most recently, in Asheville, USA, following Hurricane Helene, amongst many others.
