Since 2008, Xylem and Mercy Corps have responded to global disasters providing access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for 1.92 million people in 24 countries. We have reached vulnerable communities during some of the toughest emergencies, including providing more than 5 million liters of clean water to families affected by the earthquake in Haiti, to increasing the water supply for Syrian refugees in Jordan, to helping communities effected by Hurricane Irma in Texas and Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Just in 2018 alone, we impacted approximately 29,000 people in Nepal, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the United States.
