Xylem Watermark Relief for Ukraine

À propos de cette Occasion de don

As the conflict escalates, a humanitarian and displacement catastrophe in Ukraine and in the region is now unfolding, threatening lives, infrastructure and livelihoods, driving food shortages, and causing significant mass displacement. Three of our Xylem Watermark global nonprofit partners are actively responding to the crisis in Ukraine, providing aid to those who need it most.

As we work with our partners to explore opportunities to leverage Xylem's resources (funds, equipment, etc.) we are matching donations made by colleagues and external business partners to support their relief efforts.

We will continue to keep our colleagues and valued partners informed of the assistance our NGO partners and Xylem are providing in the region.  For a recent update, see below:

UNICEF , who have been operating in Ukraine for 8+ years, have Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) at the forefront of their response efforts, as infrastructure is damaged and people are displaced. They are also active along the border setting up their Blue Dot Service Centers, which you can learn about in this video. With over half of Ukraine’s children now displaced within one month of the conflict, they are scaling up efforts to meet the needs of children in the crisis, services that directly support children, especially those who are unaccompanied are increasingly important.

Americares has deployed their Emergency Response Medical team and focused on providing critically needed medicine and supplies to Ukraine and neighboring countries.  To date, nearly 4 tons of medicine and relief supplies have been delivered or are on the way to Ukraine, with more shipments to come thanks to the support of Xylem and other partners (3/24/22). They are also supporting local health facilities to accommodate patient surge, trauma, primary care needs, and providing access to basic mental health services.

Mercy Corps has mobilized an emergency response team to Poland, Romania and Ukrain where they have assessed that food, shelter, non-food items, water and sanitation services and cash are the greatest humanitarian needs at this time.  Their focus is on those coming from vulnerable groups such as migrant workers, minorities, and impoverished communities.  Learn more about their response efforts, as well as their perspective on maintaining focus on other global crises, on this informative podcast with their CEO Tjada D’Oyen McKenna here.
