Hurricane Isais: Americares Ready to Respond

by AMERICARES FOUNDATION INC

Hurricane Isais, a massive category 2 storm, made landfall along the Florida-Alabama coast late on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026. It left more than 900,000 people without power at the peak of the storm, and four fatalities were reported.

Americares response teams are on the ground in the Gulf Coast, visiting communities affected by Hurricane Isaias and working with local health and community partners to assess emerging needs and identify gaps in care.

Across Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana, Americares has contacted 87 health clinic partners to assess their needs and offer support related to medicines, supplies, grants and mental health services. Teams are also visiting coastal and inland communities to better understand the storm’s impact on access to health services and determine where additional assistance is needed.

Americares stands ready to provide assistance as requirements emerge. Your support today helps Americares be prepared to help deliver critical medicine and relief supplies when disasters like Hurricane Isais or other emergencies occur.
