People of Ukraine need help: Give to help those in crisis

, Mercy Corps

Update 12/30/25: In southern Ukraine, winter has become another weapon of war. In early December, the main heating plant serving half of the city of Kherson was repeatedly attacked by artillery and drones. Heating pipes were destroyed, power lines were cut, and ongoing shelling has made repairs impossible. Almost overnight, entire neighborhoods were left without heat.

This crisis is unfolding amid frequent power and water outages caused by continued attacks on civilian energy infrastructure. For families, this means more than cold apartments. It means they have no way to heat food or boil water; no safe way to cook meals for children or elderly relatives; and long hours in darkness, cold, and fear.

Since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022, Mercy Corps has been on the ground in Ukraine, Poland, and Romania helping people searching for safety, quickly working to meet evolving humanitarian needs, and supporting local partners to help provide lifesaving services to thousands of people. Mercy Corps has been able to reach more than 1.38 million people who have been affected by the conflict and they will be there supporting them when the situation allows them to transition to recovery.

What will happen next in Ukraine is uncertain, but with the help of generous humanitarians like you, we can be there for families facing conflict and crisis across the globe just as we have been for the past 40 years.

A gift to Mercy Corps today can help us meet the immediate needs of people facing crises like the war in Ukraine and others unfolding in countries across the globe, working together to build a future where everyone can prosper.
